Winter Activities in Toronto

The Winter can be a time of hibernation, especially amidst the cold and snow. This winter, if you are visiting Toronto or you live there, check out some of these great winter activities:

  • Concerts; indoor concerts are always a great go to in the city, especially given that the city draws big names in music.
  • Hockey: What is more Canadian than going to a hockey game in the winter? check out an NHL game, or go see your friends play recreationally. Maybe even try playing yourself! It is a great game and typically provides a great atmosphere for all.
  • TIFF: The Toronto International Film Festival draws big names from all over the world and typically takes place in January. The event is known all over the globe, and produces high quality cinematic pieces worth checking out.

  • Skiing: Check out one of the hills around the city, maybe even rent a chalet and make a weekend of it.

  • Winter Walks: There is an urban park as well as a number of great trails for walks. Explore and enjoy the sights and sounds of winter, dress warmly and spend the afternoon with family and friends.
  • Winter Markets: Toronto has some awesome indoor and outdoor markets in the winter that are unique and worth checking out.
  • Restaurant hopping: Toronto has some world renowned food. While hibernating in the winter months, why not try some new restaurants and expand your horizons. There are restaurants offering any and everything your appetite can dream up.
